🚗 Edelweiss General Insurance Launches AI Voice Bot for Automated Auto Claims The conversational voice bot, available in Hindi, English and Hinglish, will enable real-time recording of complaints, 24/7. The bot will help EGI’s garage representatives register claims easier, faster, and hassle-free. The bot can provide the complaint registration number without any human intervention and forward complex queries to EGI agents.
👵 Combatting malnutrition in care homes with Artificial Intelligence
A collaboration of researchers has developed an innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) food tracking system that can potentially reduce malnutrition in care homes. The researchers created software that analyses colour, depth, and other photo features that help to estimate how much of each food has been consumed and then estimates its nutritional value.
OpenAI unveiled a more reliable successor to its GPT-3 natural language model. InstructGPT is a version of GPT-3 fine-tuned to minimize harmful, untruthful, and biased output. It's available via an application programming interface at a cost between $0.0008 and $0.06 per thousand tokens depending on speed and capability.
The developers improved the quality of GPT-3’s output using a combination of supervised learning and reinforcement learning from human feedback,

Facebook has trained a family of language models that are better at translation than GPT3. The XGLM family of models were trained on a mixture of ~30 languages (split across languages for which there's a lot of data, and languages where there's little or very little data).
🇺🇸 👨💻 AI warfare company gets US gov contract
Andrul, an AI-warfare startup, has been giving an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM). This contract is going to pay Anduril to develop and deploy counter unmanned systems (CUxS) technology for SOCOM. Anduril builds surveillance systems, robots, and most importantly software called Lattice to tie all the insights together.
🖥️ Facebook announces its AI Supercomputer
Facebook has announced its AI Research SuperCluster (RSC), an AI supercomputer which Facebook thinks "will be the fastest AI supercomputer in the world when it’s fully built out in mid-2022." The announcement highlights how frontier AI research is dependent on large computational infrastructure, and gives some specific details about where Facebook is placing its bets.
